Commitment to Care, Passion for Advocacy, Advancing Dermatology through Research

My journey in medicine has always been about more than just clinical care—it’s about equity, advocacy, research, and mentorship. From my early training in urban underserved medicine to leading inpatient dermatology teams, I’ve been driven by a mission: ensuring that all patients, regardless of background, have access to high-quality dermatologic care.
Along the way, I’ve worked with LGBTQ+ patients, people experiencing homelessness, incarcerated individuals, and refugee communities, bridging gaps in care where they exist. At the same time, I’ve been deeply involved in healthcare policy and physician advocacy, working at local, state, and national levels to strengthen our profession and improve access for patients.
In addition to my clinical and advocacy work, research is a core part of my career. I have authored 100+ publications spanning healthcare finance, health disparities, infectious disease dermatology, and LGBTQ+ health. My work contributes to shaping evidence-based policies and clinical practices that improve dermatologic care for diverse populations.
This commitment to dermatology, education, research, and advocacy is what continues to fuel my work today.
